Anthony Richardson’s last 3 games per PFF
I know that PFF’s analytics have flaws, but they are what they are, and I thought that I would just toss them out there for, in the words of Rod Serling, your consideration.
Over the past three games, since he returned as a starter, his passing grades have been: 80.3 against the Jets 77.9 vs Detroit 72.9 against the hated weasels from Foxboro. For comparison, over the same span: Joe Burrow has gone: 68.6, 72.0, 85.5 For Lamar Jackson: 57.5, 75.2, and 74.4 Justin Herbert: 75.8, 73.2, and 68.7 Patrick Mahomes: 73.3 72.6, 72.1 And Josh Allen: 70.0, 83.7, and 73.3 This might well be case that Mark Twain had in mind when he said: “There are lies, damned lies, and statistics,” I don’t know. I do know, however, that to my tired old eyes, Richardson has looked like a different quarterback than the one who first stepped foot into Colts camp last season. We can only hope that the improvement we’ve seen proves to be more substantial that a mirage. Hope springs eternal. |
I'm hopeful he can keep improving. It needs to happen soon though because the way he runs, he may not be in the league when he's 30.

Cam Newton was unlike any quarterback I've ever seen and his drop off was HARD. I partly blame Carolina for that, but Cam played hard. |

(LATE MARCH, 2025) I'm still in Richardson's corner, warts and all. YDFL Commish l recently pointed out that very few people believed in Terry Bradshaw and Bert Jones after their first 2 seasons in the NFL, and I think that that's a great point. Perhaps the high point of his entire 2024 campaign was when he literally willed the Colts' offense to the game-winning TD-drive along with the subsequent 2-point conversion against the Patriots late in the season ...... on the 2-point conversion, everybody in the solar system probably knew that he was going to run the ball himself ...... and yet he still powered forward, straight into the Patriots' defensive line and across the goal-line for the game-winning play. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ygsfkUQicdM o |
I think all Colts fans are in AR's corner. Daniel Jones could end up being a serviceable QB, but not much more than that and that will not lead to post season success. AR has not even come near what his potential could be. He may never do that, but then again?????
As Colts fans, we would all love to see him soar and take this franchise to great heights. |

As I also stated in my post, the Steelers and the the Colts didn't throw in the towel after Terry Bradshaw's and Bert Jones' first 2 seasons ...... in both of those cases (especially Bradshaw's), they were worse than Richardson was. So yes, you are correct in pointing out that Richardson did not play well overall in that particular game against the Patriots ...... but the bigger picture is more long-sighted than that. 2024 was Richardson's first full season in the NFL, after playing a total of 20 games in the NCAA. This is from a previous post of mine, and is a better example of Richardson's improvement from earlier in the season. Richardson may or may not not sustain that improvement, but I believe that it is indeed still too early to throw him away. Quote:

So let’s get into weeks 11-13 Jets was his best game all season but it was his return after the tap out so he responded well for 1 game ill give you that. Week 12 was the Lions and I’d hardly call that a good game, the only thing he did effective was run the ball and yet and still he accounted for zero TDs. Week 13 was the Patriots game which I’ve already touched on. So let’s pickup the weeks you seem not interested in 15 and 16 15 - broncos, 170 yards and 2 INTs he did have 46 yards rushing and a TD, the only thing they could get working that game was JT and he nearly carried us to the playoffs singlehanded 16- His final game due to a back injury since middle school…. He went a whopping 7-11 131 1td 1 int. Once again JT put the team on his back 29 fuckin carries for 218 yards and 3 tds 17-18 DNP Back The jets game was an anomaly the entire staff knew it and that’s why they started leaning on JT similar to the end of the Wentz season. Hurt at every level and has only played QB since high school and plays the position with a diva WR mentality |
