Quick thoughts Steelers edition.
Great great win first of all. Thats a good team we beat.
Colts came out with attitude and took it to Pittsburg early. I love to see that. Bortolini was absolutely nasty on that first drive. He disappeared a little after that but he’s a helluva lot better than Danny Freaking Pinter. Nick Cross is the best tackler on the team. EJ Speed and Zaire Franklin came to play today, especially early. JT is really good but sometimes I think he’s to hesitant. Sometimes he just needs to hit the hole and get what he can. Hope he’s not hurt to bad. Great game from Pitt. Really a classic Pittman performance. I LOVE Josh Downs. He’s a chain mover. The quintessential slot reciever. Now, as for AR, he might be the most unique player I’ve ever seen. He’s a unicorn. He’s the anti Gardner Minshew. He’s ALWAYS looking to throw it deep and that puts an INSANE amount of pressure on the defense. He’ll sail a throw in the flat 10 yards out of bounds but then hit a dart to Pittman for 40 yards like he did early in the game. I absolutely LOVE watching him play, even if he drives me nuts a lot of the time. However, the play he got hurt on will be the end of his career if he doesn’t learn to GET THE FUCK DOWN!!! Every time he takes off, that’s what I’m yelling at the television. This is the NFL. These guys will take his fucking head off if they get the chance. It’s SO frustrating. Every one is bitching about the RPO that was the one play he came back in for but that’s on him. He needed to just hand that ball off no matter what. I don’t blame Steichen for that. Now, on to our annual ass kicking in Jacksonville. |
Also, kudos to old man Flacco for gutting it out today. He made some clutch throws and didn’t do anything stupid.
Oh, and it’s time we either replace Matt Gay or stop depending on him to hit long field goals. |

AR Post Presser; and it is confusing!:
I'm sore. I think I could have went back out there On the play after you came back in you kind of gave yourself up, but you still got hit, do you think it should have been flagged? No, not really concerned with that, its football But you did give yourself up was that an attempt to not get hit again? No, I just couldn't really accelerate like I wanted to so I just went down instead When you came back from the locker room you said you thought you could go, was it the coaching / trainers decision that you didn't We all kind of talked and I told them how I felt and not being able to push off like I wanted to so we decided it would be best to just not go back in So are you going to be playing next week? Not sure, it depends on what they see Do you think you should slide more when you are running and not get hit I don't know, some people say I do, some say I don't, it's just football so I just try to do things to help the team ***So the depends on what they see would seem to indicate an MRI is in his near future*** ***Seems as though he himself is conflicted about what this injury looks like*** Hips can be really fucking tricky- Dwayne Allen as an example. |
I think they were trying to teach AR a lesson today, get the fuck down or stop taking hits and if you take a hit stop whining and rubbing where you got hit like a fuckin cry baby
Manning took a shot to the chin that required dental repair — stayed in and finished the game Luck took a hit and was pissing blood— still finished the game If there’s one thing Irsay doesn’t like to see it’s a whiny ass QB, just ask Brissett |

Dude is a monster, play like it. Big Ben was in the building today, should have asked to talk to him to get some pointers on just being big and tough period. Hate him for who he is, but you can't deny the man was a warrior at the QB position. |
In AR’s defense, the Colts were better off without him if he wasn’t 100 percent.
If the threat of him running is removed, he’s not a better option than Joe Flacco, because he’s not as good throwing the ball. |
o
In all of the years in which I have been watching football (from the early 1970's through the present), Ben Roethlisberger is the toughest son-of-a-bitch that I ever saw play quarterback. Tom Brady is the 2nd-toughest that I ever saw play the position. I think that Brady is overrated because many people have the notion that he was necessarily the greatest quarterback ever to play the game, but I think that his toughness was underrated ...... when Brady was 42 years-old in 2019, I saw him dive over the pile at the 1-yardline, head-first, on a crucial 4th down for the touchdown in a regular season game in 2008. o |
