Week 1 vs Houston - Stats and stuff

Don't know if Chromeburn is busy but I liked these threads last year.

Since it is already Thursday, thought I would go ahead and start it.

So you have to think that one of the happiest people in Indy this week is Alec Pierce. He finally has a QB that can chuck the rock down the field:

Quote:

QB Anthony Richardson's 60-yard TD pass to WR Alec Pierce traveled 65.3 yards in the air, the 3rd-longest completion in the Next Gen Stats era.

Oh, and Alec Pierce is FAST on the football field. Twice he was recorded over 20 mph during this last game.

Anthony Richardson 60-yard touchdown pass to Alec Pierce

Most impressive stat: 21.21 mph.

That’s what Alec Pierce topped out at after the inward cut on this post route. To put it into perspective, we all thought Chiefs WR Xavier Worthy’s jet sweep speed on Thursday was game-breaking. Worthy topped out at 18.45 mph, almost 3 mph slower than Pierce.

Tyreek Hill’s career-long 80-yard touchdown catch from Tua only saw Tyreek top out at 20.27 mph.

Quote:

Anthony Richardson 57-yard pass to Alec Pierce

Most impressive stat: 20.95 mph.

That’s what Alec Pierce topped out at after the inward cut on this post route.

AR is the perfect qb for Pierce.

I think Pierce got a bad rap last year because noodle armed Minshew couldn’t make those kind of throws.

Neither could Ryan/Ehlinger the year before.

Also noticed Gould was #3 on that list. He's a burner, if he can get a feel for things, be nice to get some game-altering returns.

Baldy is very excited to see what AR can do on the football field:

QB Anthony Richardson is dripping with talent and his team is never out of contention.

It's real close already to being an explosive offense.

Stay tuned.

AR5 is Aaron Judge in a football uniform.

Per Next Gen Stats:

The Colts defense allowed 4.0 yards per carry and a 42.3% rushing success rate when Grover Stewart was on the field (26 carries) in Week 1 but allowed 7.8 yards per carry and a 78.6% rushing success rate when Stewart was off the field (14 carries).

Of the 26 runs faced with Stewart on the field, 6 of them resulted in a loss or no gain (23.1%). All 14 runs faced with Stewart off the field gained positive yardage.
