Alec Pierce

Perhaps colts should have taken Skye Moore who went 1 pick later. Pierce can't seem to get separation.

Comparison of their rookie years:

Pierce: 16 games, 41 rec, 593 yds, 2 TDs

Moore: 16 games, 22 rec, 250 yds, 0 TDs

Comparison of their first game this season:

Pierce: 1 rec, 5 yds, 0 TDs

Moore: 0 rec, 0 yds, 0 TDs

Moore has had the benefit of having a much better QB.

Pierce is going to be ok guys. He is a downfield threat, which unfortunately at this moment in time with Richardson being spoon fed a basic scheme, is not likely to be a staple of the offense in the early weeks. We drafted him knowing full well that his route tree was not highly developed.

What has Moore done to impress you?

Yes. Someone (I can't remember who) put it well in that Pierce is kind of a downfield specialist and yesterday was a game where we just simply didn't push it downfield.

I guess the real mistake was when they took Parris Campbell when Terry Mclaurin was available.

He's their deep threat and they were scheming to take away the deep ball. We will see a lot of Downs and Gransen this season till they come out of that cover two-shell.

But Pierce’s game isnt running and juking guys with precise routes underneath. His game is going deep and going up for contested catches over the CB. If he is getting doubled he is drawing attention away for other guys to pick up the slack.

Mclaurin is also from Ohio St., so he just would've gotten hurt with us too. I'm sorry, but it's just we have no luck with Buckeyes.

Not only this (as long as our OSU curse wouldn't have hit McLaurin), but some of the WRs we passed on in the 2nd round in '19 will make you sick.
