Colts release first depth chart from camp

Obviously it is still very early, but the Colts have released their first depth chart from training camp.

Offensive Line appears to align with what the beat writers have passed along so far:

LT Pryor, LG Nelson, C Kelly, RG Pinter and RT Smith

Nice to see Nick Cross listed with the one's.

Dayo being listed as the third string LEO is confusing and concerning.

I wanted to bring the TE's up again the other day... I keep hearing a couple things from camp:

1. Granson keeps looking good, alleviating concerns a bit from earlier in the off-season. Again, that's encouraging because of the utility his skillset brings (TE, receiver, FB, etc.) Him being listed as TE2 is nice to see.

2. Drew Ogletree continues to earn praise from several people spectating. Seems to be picking things up quicker than Woods. I've even heard speculation that he's actually competing with Granson for TE2 more than he's competing with Woods for TE3.

Not to compare the two, but I can't help but think of Jack Doyle coming in as an unknown behind some bigger names (Fleener, Allen) and being the last man standing of the three.

3. That doesn't mean Jelani Woods is looking like a bust. I think everyone knew he was drafted on his freakish potential. And of course it's still early for all of them.

He will be in the rotation come season opener.

I'm hoping it's a true competition at kicker.

I don't see why it wouldn't be. Specs had a very accurate rookie season but lacked range, last year he was injured, he shouldn't have the job locked down and Ballard doesn't seem like the type to not move on.

If I ever read the word “incumbent” again in a Colts article, I will scream. That is all.

Sounds like Hot Rod won the competition for today. From what I've been reading this is a dead heat right now.

Blankenship 5 of 5 today: 28, 33, 40, 47, 56

Verity 4 of 5, wide right from 56

Incumbent!

See what happens if you tell me not to say Jehovah!
