I don't think Curtis Martin was first ballot HOF either. He retired after 2005 and was inducted in 2012

I so miss the Edge. That year he was injured sucked the life out of that team.
As good as he was after the knee injury, he still was never the same. He was one of the best I’ve ever seen before that.
