The #Colts are signing LT Anthony Castonzo to a two-year, $33 million contract extension, source said.

Per @spotrac, the new deal makes Anthony Castonzo the highest paid LT in the NFL by AAV.

And Stephen Holder had this first, but Castonzo's plan is now to play at least two more years and then reassess where he's at, per source

That extra year he plans to play, I'd say, makes the Colts breathe a little easier about getting a possible replacement this year.

One of the biggest dominoes of Castonzo's return: Now the Colts don't have to heavily consider the offensive tackle position in the first round of the draft.

At 13th overall, still thinking WR, QB + DL are the positions of greatest need.

The Colts were the only team in the NFL to start the same five offensive linemen in every game for 2019.

With Anthony Castonzo's two-year extension, they will now enter 2020 with the same starting OL for the third straight year. Rare continuity and an excellent group.

Glad to see this, now he’s sayin he’s playing 2 more years

Great news. Just need a damn QB now.

Excellent news and he is well worth the money.

Awesome news! This deal should make Castonzo somewhere between the 4th to 6th top paid OT in the league. That is a fair evaluation IMO.

Anybody know where this leaves us from a cap standpoint? I would like to lock up Kelly and Mack as well.

The Colts will still have plenty of cap space to work with. Prior to signing Castonzo, the Colts had about $81MM in cap space.

Jim Irsay said he was the best and put his $$$ into it.

Castonzo said he and the rest and the Oline are "pumped" to get the gang back together next year.

"I'd be remiss if I didn't say the opportunity to play next to Quenton Nelson wasn't one of the reasons I wanted to come back and keep playing."

Castonzo got better once he didn’t have to worry about his inside gap collapsing every other play.
