Doyle tidbit -
Doyle has had 3-4 bad games (who on this squad hasn't?) but has been mostly solid the rest of the season, and I would hate to think where brissett would be without him (probably watching Aiken drop some more shit).
Doyle had 3 catches to being his season total to 62. 60 catches was one of the performance incentives in his contract. So with 34 seconds left in the third, Doyle caught a 5 yard pass for $400,000. I read a stat that the last time a TE led the team in receptions was Pat beach In 1985 where he led the team with a mere 36 catches. I forget sometimes how bad this team was. |
Funny, I was actually thinking yesterday that this team really misses Allen as a TE2 or move TE. Not as a pass-catcher in any way, but his in-line blocking is sorely missed, and that was on display yesterday. Doyle can do a lot of things, but he's not a particularly good in-line blocker.
