Blech!

Go Colts! 24-21, Indy wins!

Colt Classic 09-10-2017 09:32 AM

This feels like one of those weird score, boring ass 16-12 games that someone has to win due to the rules of the sport.

IndyNorm 09-10-2017 09:32 AM

Time for our annual Clappy McWoodchopper slow start to the season special

DrSpaceman 09-10-2017 09:42 AM

I am by no means a Woodchipper defender. He should have been gone two years ago.

But somehow he does seem to do a better job coaching when Luck is not starting.

And against average to below average teams he does OK. It just going up against above average teams he sucks.

That being said I will predict a close colts loss. They will play a boring vanilla offensive gameplan, struggle to score, try to use Gore a lot and likely lost like 20-13 or so.

The D will need to come up with some turnovers and good field position to win these games without Luck

I will be looking at the continued OL changes, how the Hooker, Wilson and the new secondary do and hope Mack gets say 10 carries or so to see how he looks against the first string Ds.

Could end in a 3-3 tie.

Maniac 09-10-2017 10:16 AM

Let the Marlon Mack era begin

Indiana V2 09-10-2017 10:21 AM

Expecting another fantastic Pagano well prepared/well coached coaching jobs...heavy dose of sarcasm inserted.

VeveJones007 09-10-2017 11:54 AM

Rams offense is going to look better than Omaha is expecting. They're going to drop 30 on the Colts.

VeveJones007 09-10-2017 11:57 AM

30-16 Rams

Hoopsdoc 09-10-2017 12:07 PM

Gonna be a long, ugly, hopeless ass season and it starts today. 31-20 Rams.

I hope they prove me wrong, but they won't.

rcubed 09-10-2017 12:08 PM

we will lose. 20-13

2017 is hopeless, but it could pay dividends with Pagano gone and an elite pass rusher in the 1st round.

I'll be pleasantly surprised if they manage two TDs. Maybe the 2nd will come in mop-up time though.

I tentatively agree with your first statement. It's like not having Luck there to bail them out makes the coaching staff take of their dumbass hats for the week.

Have to disagree with you on your 2nd statement as witnessed by every opening day game where we played at best an average team (except for Denver in '14) and every time we play the Jagoffs.

First season opener since 2002 without either Freeney and/or Mathis at defensive end.

Aaah, forgot about the Mathis suspension/injury year.

23-17 colts. Just because Pagano has never felt better about an offensive line and a football team.

Indiana V2 09-10-2017 12:42 PM

Here's to hoping Pagano gets fired at halftime.

Big Smooth 09-10-2017 01:22 PM

I just want to see progress. Without Luck I have zero expectations. This season is gonna be rough, but, I can hope for progress in other areas.

YDFL Commish 09-10-2017 01:37 PM

Pagano is replaced at halftime, down 17-0 by coach Tom Simpson.

The Colts get their stances right, and go on to win a thriller 20-17!

albany ed 09-10-2017 01:38 PM

24 - 17 Colts

HoosierinFL 09-10-2017 01:42 PM

I just hope I still have electricity this afternoon so I can watch the game.

bertjones 09-10-2017 03:18 PM

What I hate about this season is that I'm sure I'm going to spend most of it
on the couch with some sort of sanguine Ward Cleaver look on my face,
nodding here and there at the action, sipping my beer, nibbling at my
potato chips when what I really want to do is pace up and down the floor,
shout like Sam Kinison at the players and refs, chug a beer, cram down
some wings and maybe smoke a doobie.
Maybe fielding a competitive/winning team isn't healthy for me but I sure do
miss it.

Where oh where is Tom Simpson ?

Hoopsdoc 09-10-2017 03:33 PM

Lamey is interviewing Clappy before the game and the excuses are already starting. "We've got a ton of young guys, they'll make mistakes, we've had some injuries, blah blah blah".

God I hate that asshole so much.

Oldcolt 09-10-2017 03:41 PM

Of course they will make a ton of mistakes. Look who their coach is

It will be a glorious day when Pagano is no longer the Colt's head coach.

Irsay should've parted ways with Pagano last season. You don't hear Belichick making whiney baby excuses.

ChoppedWood 09-10-2017 03:50 PM

5 holding penalties, 3 taking away first downs.
3 false starts
2 pass interferences
2 personal fouls
2 Int's
1 LF
2 challenges which are laughed at by the refs- one of which will be to challenge that a Colts TD was really a TD...
missed tackles so voluminous they don't make numbers that high

...in other words, typical Colts football! Chop chop...

Your number of holding penalties and false starts are a little low, otherwise i agree.

Hoopsdoc 09-10-2017 03:55 PM

TJ Green starting at corner? According to Lamey, he is. That'll be interesting. Mitchel at the other corner.

Apparently we're sucking for someone this season. Hopefully a new coach.

Indiana V2 09-10-2017 03:59 PM

In other games, the Pats lost, Texans lost, and Titans lost. That's what I call a good weekend.

Thorgrim 09-10-2017 04:04 PM

Gonna need to win the turnover battle. Hoping for Butler to have a nose for the football today.

nate505 09-10-2017 04:08 PM

Nice of the Colts defense to make Goff look like an all pro.

That's what we do.

Indiana V2 09-10-2017 04:10 PM

Held them to a FG, that's a win for our D.

HoosierinFL 09-10-2017 04:11 PM

So our secondary gonna make Goff look like a probowler?

edit: nevermind, I didn't hit refresh, nate beat me to it

Colt Classic 09-10-2017 04:12 PM

This game not a sell out? Looks empty for their new team. Geez, and that stupid stadium announcer they have.
