RB by Committee

Interesting stat that the Indystar pulled on on Robert Turbin:
Quote:

He has a touchdown or first down on all 28 of his carries with 3 yards to go or less over the last two seasons.
With the O-Line that we trotted out over the past 2 seasons, that is a pretty amazing stat.

However, I also keep hearing about the ability to move guys like Mack, Hines and Ferguson all over the field to get some "sizzle" out of them. That also is pretty exciting.

So, it appears to me that we have 2 different types of RBs on the roster.

Mack, Hines, Ferguson = "Get into Space and Sizzle" RBs

Turbin, Wilkins, Michael = "Run between the Tackle" RBs

If the O-Line is as improved as I think it could be, that is not a bad lineup to give Andrew weapons. There is a lot of talent there to work with (minus Turduson whom I just don't like).

Walk Worthy,

I would prefer to carry only 3 rbs. Although I don’t see it happening.

Ferguson is worthless. He should be gone by the end of camp.

I can't imagine they will carry 6.

Well Reich is seeing Turbin as 3-down back, which is nice to hear, esp if that means the line is playing well too

I'm good with that, I've liked Turbin for a long time. I remember "scouting" him because he stood out at the Combine. He's not the most explosive but he's very versatile. Catches well, blocks well, runs tough between the tackles. I just hope if he plays well this year that he doesn't get popped for PEDs. He is seriously jacked.

I think we carry 4 if Hines ends up returning and being used in a WR as well as 3rd down back. I just hope Turd is not one of them unless he has figured out how to do something well.
