LB Mychal Kendricks?

Apparently he's being cut by the Eagles. Would he be a good fit for our scheme here? Why or why not?

Stampede Blue was pretty high on him in an article yesterday. I guess that Philly has some salary issues with him and the mutually have tried to part ways for the last couple seasons.

I'm all for it, potentially a defensive playmaker. He's older, but played well when he saw the field.

He's only 27, I wouldn't call him older.

One of the benefits of Ballard's approach is that the Colts are well positioned to make this type of acquisition if they choose to do so, since they have lots of available cap space. Further, the price would presumably be much more reasonable given that most everyone has already spent their money elsewhere.

This being said, I wouldn't expect an immediate move, even if the Colts bring Kendricks in for a visit. There always seems to be a delay of about a month or so after the meeting before the signing is announced. I wonder if Ballard makes a modest offer, but invites the player to shop around for a few weeks to see if they can do better elsewhere. If they can't, they can return and sign the Colts original offer. Pure speculation, of course, but it seems consistent with what seems to happen with some of these free agents (Ryan Grant, Austin Howard, maybe Breeland?)

Reich should be familiar with Kendricks. if Ballard doesn't make a play for Kendricks then I would assume that Reich will have a lot of say in that decision.

Also, the dude is delusional if he thinks he's getting $7 million on the open market.

Seems to fit the style of LB Eberflus wants, and he's a starting caliber LB. Considering the current depth chart at LB, giving him a multiyear deal for starter money doesn't seem unreasonable.

Signing a 1 year deal with the Brownies.
