Eason/Ehlinger

We got to see both of these guys play. What do you think? For me, Eason will never be the runner Ehlinger is. I don't care really, I don't like a QB whose best asset is his legs. I am not sure that Ehlinger can put any zip on the ball, I didn't see any today. Playing against first team defensive players is tough when you don't have a fast ball, those guys react fast. On the other hand, Eason has a gun but is a statue back there. That's tough against a real pass rush. He looked much better with the no huddle. Frank ran that almost exclusively for a time in Buffalo. I'm wondering if that is something we will see more of. Not much separation yet to me.

Yeah, I'm not too sure about a game manager with a weakish arm (Ehlinger).
I would rather have the guy with the big arm and develop him.

Can we merge them? Would have a pretty good QB then.

Yeah, they are diametrically opposite as players.

Atleast the guy with the big arm will keep the safeties back and free up running lanes

That INT from Ehlinger was a pretty poor decision - worse than any I saw from Eason. It wasn’t just the weak arm.

I was actually somewhat encouraged by what I saw from Eason. He looked like an NFL quarterback. Admittedly a lower tier one though. But one I think they could stay in games with with good OL play. Unfortunately the LT spot is going to cost this team until Fisher is ready.

I did not get to see the game.

Where they helping whomever was at LT with TE help or RB chipping? That has traditionally been the help for a weak LT but it seems the Colts don't really do that as much as other teams.

I thought that Eason improved as the game went on.

After the Ehlinger int. I stopped watching.

The fact that before the game was played Ehlinger was in line to start the next game and now it is Eason says quite a bit.

Ehlinger is a threat to run for a first down. So they have to keep a spy on him. Also slides and doesn’t take hits. But he throws some ducks up there. Still he throws a very catchable ball.

Eason is a statue and doesn’t have great pocket movement or awareness. But he throws a beautiful ball and the entire field is open to him. He can be a little too strong with the throw.

Ehlinger processes a little faster and gets the ball out. Eason needs a second longer, but he can throw deeper with that second.

Eason looked good on the 2 minute drill when he didn’t have to think as much. Ehlinger looked good on the final drive of the game.

Eason probably has the higher upside, but if Ehliger strengthens his arm he could be pretty good.
