Deshaun Watson wins amok, or bust ???

The Steelers and the Bills are playing their games at the same time, at 1 PM. And with the Steelers apparently giving minimal effort to win their game against the Browns, the Bills may or may not be simultaneously playing and scoreboard watching ...... but I suspect that the Bills won't be doing much scoreboard watching, and will be trying in earnest to beat the Dolphins.

The Bengals have the proverbial puncher's chance to pull the upset against a determined Ravens team, but I wouldn't bank on it.

A) l DeShaun Watson and JJ Watt playing for pride, and a chance to kick the Titans in the nuts.

B) l The Buffalo Bills choosing to beat the Miami Dolphins "just because they can."

Those are probably our best hopes of claiming a playoff berth should we beat the Jaguars in a rematch of the opening day fiasco.

While we have ourselves to blame for this circumstance first and foremost, we can also extend a hearty FU to Jon Gruden and the choking Raiders as well.

Ok, help me figure this out.

I assume Tomlins reasoning is that he doesn’t think Buffalo will lose, so he’s resigned to having the 3 seed. That makes no sense at all to me. Any given Sunday right?

I also assume that part of it is they’d rather see the Browns in the playoffs than the Colts. Having just narrowly squeaked past Indy and knowing, or thinking they know, that they can easily beat the Browns, should they meet in the playoffs.

I’m also guessing that the lack of fans has them thinking that HFA isn’t as important this year, and they feel they can win in Buffalo if necessary.

I’m also guessing that he believes they solved the offensive funk they’ve been in for the past month and his starters don’t need any more reps to be ready.

Am I right or wrong on any of this?

Fuck Tomlin and the Steelers. I hate those bastards, I hope they go one and out.

No way to say for certain, but my interpretation is that at least part of it is that Tomlin feels the difference between the #2 and #3 seed isn't significant enough to miss out on the opportunity for a week of rest - particularly given the fact that the Steelers bye week was screwed up this season.

They might actually need the rest. Plus if they throw out another stinker might carry over to the playoffs. Maybe best to end the season on a win.
