***THE OFFICIAL COLTS seahawks GAME THREAD****
Finally! What are you watching for tonight?
Me: Luck of course. The oline. The RBs LBS CBs pass rush I guess everything. Including coaching (not that it matters of course) I want to see Nelson beat someone down! |
unfortunately with such a late start I'm gonna have to watch the replay tomorrow while I'm at work.
A few things I will be watching for: Offense QB's Andrew Luck - how does he look at game speed, can he make better decisions at throwing it away/sliding rather than taking huge unnecessary hits Brissett - has he gotten any better at getting the ball out quicker, will the new OL help buy him more time OL Really interested in Nelson, but also I want to the other new guys up front, as long as Castonzo is back for the season, I'm fine with the backups/new guys getting more pre-season reps WR's Wanna see what all the hype about Cain is all about RB's How does Mack look without shoulder issues, can the rookies live up to the hype....can we shitcan Ferguson already? Defense DL Will practicing against our upgraded O-Line make our D-Line better prepared? Simon/Sheard/Woods - how do they fit in the new scheme, are the rookies getting overhyped? LB I have zero confidence in this group, but I'm excited to find out if Leonard can live up to his potential, we desperately need him to be good early on CB How bad are they going to get raped, wtf is going on with Wilson? thought we'd hear more about him with Chuckles being gone. Safetys Love Farley, but can't wait til he's not our best safety on the field. Is Geathers playing tonight? I think they said Hooker isn't. Special Teams We know what we have in the kicking/punting game, but I can't wait to see us actually have a decent return man, maybe we can block/cover this year |
Awe hell yes! So looking forward to this season without chudfukker and chuckfukker. That alone makes it so much better.
Stupid late start sucks balls. I’ll have to watch it tomorrow.
The main thing for me is no injuries. Rookies I’m interested in seeing-Nelson, of course, Leonard, Cain, Skai Moore, and Turay. Will be interesting to see how rusty Luck is. Sounds like he’s going to play a quarter. |
I want to see if Basham has progressed...
DL:
Is Denico Autry a starting caliber 3T? Or do they play him outside like Raheem Brock and only kick him inside on passing downs? If that's the case, who is the run down DT alongside Woods? Will Woods stay in or sub out on pass downs? Sheard is a starter. Who will win the other starting job? As I said above, could be Autry. Could be Simon. Is it really going to be the rookie Turay like the depth chart said? Hard to believe that. I liked Hunt last year as an interior DL. If they try him at DE he will probably not make the team. OL: There's almost too much to try to pay attention to on offense. Nelson and the other new OL like Slauson, Smith, Howard. But also, how will the returning guys do in the new offense? What is the new offense? What formations do we run out of now? How will it be disguised? What RB is preferred on what type of play? Will they all do everything? How much will Doyle and Ebron be on the field together? Will Ebron ever get in while Doyle's on the bench or is Doyle still TE1 is all aspects? How is Rodgers doing? Can he be WR2? Does Ryan Grant suck as much as I think he does? Can Cain live up to his potential with Luck throwing the ball? Also, insert 2 dozen Luck questions. It's just one preseason game so we probably won't see enough to answer half of these. |

I'm sure it has to do with it being Thursday, on the Left Coast, and it's 3 hours behind Indiana and Eastern time. |
I will be paying close attention to both lines initially.
I'll sleep through it. No reason for 10PM games. None!
Hoping for a good showing from Luck with no injury, anxious to see how he takes a hit. Also, looking forward to seeing the rookies play.
Looking forward to seeing who will blow a gasket, declare the season a lost cause, and mourn our parting with Pagano.

I'm not sure how much I'm going to try to watch, but I'm making the attempt.
The stars aligned and I'm off tomorrow, so I'm looking forward to this. Even though the media has been praising Luck so far in training camp I, personally, want to see him in action.
FWIW I watched the first two series of the Jags preseason game and they looked good. Bortles looked sharp leading a TD drive, but it's still preseason of course. |
Darius Leonard, Skai Moore, Deon Caine, Steve Ishmael, Luck being a better Luck, a commitment to running the ball and NO INJURIES.

I'm anxious for how this defensive scheme will work with a lot of changes for some players. I’m specially interested in watch who will go with Sheard at DE, and what expect from the unproven LB group, I mean, it is the most questioning part of the D. In the other side , obviously, How will be Luck after almost six hundred days off the field, the 3 guys at center of the OL in action. And the RB carousel helping Luck to move the ball.
So good to see 12 out there!!!
Nelson got his ass pushed back hard
4th and one and got it!!!
Gotta push that Chester...
Nice seeing us move down the field.
Chester Rogers gave a horseshit effort in fighting for the 1st down on his first catch tonight.
Luck on the keeper gets hit and jumps up pumping his fist!
Not a bad first drive.
I don't understand kicking FGs in preseason, but whatever. It was a solid first drive for a guy who hasn't been on a football field in ages.
Decent first drive, Rogers needs get that yard though

Was i dreaming or did they run a play action pass?
Very fast moving offense..... and so far not at all predictable like the last regime
Luck looks pretty good so far. He took somewhat of a hit, too.
o
Luck looked really good on that drive. In fact, the entire offensive unit looked good on that drive. Woo hoo. o |
Yes liked the play calling …
