Colts' massive roster turnover continues / I enjoy having a GM I respect again.

Insider: Colts' massive roster turnover continues

Quote:

The rookie free agents are “real important,” Ballard said. “I’ve had it both ways where we’ve had guys make it and some years we don’t. But it’s very important. The undrafted guys are, in my mind, no different than a draft pick. They’re going to get the same opportunity, and if they win the job, then we’ll move on from the other guy. But you can’t preach competition and not live it. Last year in Kansas City, if you’ve done your research, we cut our third-round pick (Kei’Varae Russell) for a sixth-round corner that we drafted. You can’t preach competition and not live it because, I promise you, the locker room knows. They know who deserves to make it and who doesn’t deserve to make it.”
Really think this was a Grigano failure: preaching competition but not really living it. TR and Landry are case in points that first come to mind.

I enjoy having a GM I respect again.

Since we are stuck with Pagano I will pretend the lack of true competition was Grigson's fault.

Yeah, we will find out this year for sure.

While I have high hopes for Ballard, he still needs to earn that respect. He's had what looks like a good draft in year 1, but they haven't played a down yet. Grigson did pretty good in his first draft, he just sucked after that.

In hindsight his first draft wasn't as good as it looked. Luck wasn't his call, Fleener and Allen are gone (we did get two 4ths for them), no 4th round picks, and no one from the 5th round on stayed with the team. Hilton was really the only great pick. I guess you can argue how good the TE picks were.

I really believe Pagano would have been canned too if not for Luck's injury. Pagano owes Luck big time for saving his ass more than once. Pagano is one of the most incompetent coaches I have ever seen.

no fucking gm was taking anyone other than luck. so lets stop that silly bullshit.

All this is great until the games start and we come out slow call stupid timeouts and mismanage the game. I don't know of any GM that can overcome that.

Clearly, that was Grigson's fault.

Sounds like you agree that he gets no credit then if any GM would've picked Luck.
