The Texas Rangers started out as the Washington Senators in 1961 (the original Washington Senators are now the Minnesota Twins ...... they moved to Minnesota in 1961, the same year that the expansion Senators were created.)

The Rangers won back-to-back American League championships in 2010 and 2011 ...... and now they are in the Fall Classic once again, with a chance to win the franchise's first world championship against the winner of the Diamondbacks-Phillies game tonight.
