Interesting analysis on just how awful the play calling was in 2017.

The 2017 Colts are the ONLY team in the last 27 years to lose at least 7 games which they led at halftime.

The 2017 Colts are the ONLY team in the last 20 years to hold a lead entering the 4th quarter in at least 9 games, but win no more than 4 games.

Last year, a total of five teams held a lead entering the 4th quarter in 9 games. Every team posted a winning record (aside from the Colts):
Jaguars (10 wins)
Chiefs (10 wins)
Falcons (10 wins)
Chargers (9 wins)
Colts (4 wins)

In their first 11 games of the season, the Colts led entering the 4th quarter in 8 games. The only two teams that led entering the 4th quarter more than 8 games (through 11) were the Super Bowl Champion Eagles and the Super Bowl runner-up Patriots.
There is a lot of breakdown of the why in the post, worthwhile read. It is all stuff we saw with our eyes and bitched about in posts, but seeing a statistical analysis of it is interesting. Show just how bad Clappy and crew were, fuck those guys.

They were the definition of insanity. Doing the same thing over and over expecting different results.

Reading this, especially the 100% run part, actually made me slightly nauseated

It should give us fans reasons for optimism. We get Luck back, we have a capable back up, a coaching staff that shouldn't be making game losing decisions, and an improved OL.

With Brissett at qb, Doyle and Hilton the only consistent recievers, they really had few options. Put that with an offensive staff with 0 imagination, we have last season

Sad realization, the O coordinator could have done a better job pulling random plays out of a jar.

Worst coach in the history of the league

Probably even worse than Rich Kotite.

yea its been posted a couple times already but I don't mind, its one of the reasons for my optimism this year. This was a team that was better than its record, personnel wise. And despite some issues with how the d-line was handled this off-season, I think Ballard has definitely improved the personnel.
New coaches alone would add 4-5 wins to that total. Add in Luck.
