Immaculate Reception Angle
Peyton Manning is the narrator, so this qualifies as Colts-related, right? (Come on, the other forum is a bit dry).
Has this been around a while? Just came across it. Short clip of Oakland's bird's eye view of the play. I've wanted to see Franco catch that damn ball since I was a kid. Anybody else seen this before? https://youtu.be/W1grVgWug20 |
I haven't, but let me share a funny video https://twitter.com/TheShopIndy/stat...70375882010632

I saw it when it happened, when I was in 2nd grade. Many people who assert that 2 offensive players could not touch a pass back in those days are wrong ...... 2 offensive players could indeed touch a pass IF a defensive player also touched the ball. In Super Bowl V, the Colts scored a touchdown when 2 different receivers touched the same pass BECAUSE Mel Renfro of the Cowboys also touched the ball in between. So if the ball went from John Fuqua DIRECTLY TO FRANCO HARRIS WITHOUT TOUCHING JACK TATUM, then it should have been ruled as an incomplete pass ...... BUT, if the ball hit Fuqua AND ALSO hit Tatum before Harris caught the ball, then that indeed would have been a legal completion. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xrg6rhKq27w o |

Personally, i just felt this weird catharsis when I finally saw the full frame of Franco Harris catching the ball. It always bugged me that all we had was an end zone view with the ball juuuuust out of frame. Also... Isn't it just such a Raiders move to have this footage for 50 years with all the controversy surrounding? Ha. |
