Who to root for in Week 14

CHI (3-9) @ CIN (5-7)
Root for the visiting Bears to get them to 4 wins and over the Colts.

SF (2-10) @ HOU (4-8)
This one is tough. While Houston has more wins than us, we hold the tiebreaker to get behind them in draft order if we tie and we play in week 17 when neither team will have anything to play for (or not play for as the case may be) except draft order. While I want SF to win 2 more games behind Jimmy G to get to 4 wins, I think I am rooting for HOU in this one so that they are 2 games clear of us and week 17 will then not matter. I hope that SF can then win 2 of their final 3 to get to 4 wins.

DAL (6-6) @ NYG (2-10)
Root for Eli and the Giants. Change of coaching and Eli with something to prove at home to a hated division rival? Yeah, it could happen.

MYJ (5-7) @ DEN (3-9)
For the love of God, Broncos, play with some pride! Defend your home turf! This is one of the most winnable games left on your schedule (except for the Colts game the following week).

IND (3-9) @ BUF (6-6)
I won't tell you to root for the Bills over our Colts but I don't think you will need to. The Bills have got to be pissed that they had the Cheats down and reeling last week and let them up off the mat. They are going to want to dish out some anger and we are the team on their schedule this week. Especially if it is cold and snowing with lake effect on Sunday, I think this one could get ugly.

Wins by DEN and CHI move both of them clear of the Colts.

Wins by NYG or SF move them into a tie with the Colts that then would be determined by the Strength of Schedule tiebreaker.

Go Bears, Broncos, Giants and Texans!

Current Top Ten Draft Order:

1. Cleveland Browns (0-12, .537)
2. New York Giants (2-10, .505)
3. San Francisco 49ers (2-10, .526)
4. Denver Broncos (3-9, .487)
5. Indianapolis Colts (3-9, .495)
6. Chicago Bears (3-9, .553)
7. Houston Texans (4-8, .521, traded to CLE)
8. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-8, .552)
9. Arizona Cardinals (5-7, .490)
10. New York Jets (5-7, .516)

Walk Worthy,

#2 pick is still a possibility. Would give Ballard a lot of options with a few QBs likely to be in demand early.

Alas, I think our schedule is too soft down the stretch.

Taylor being held out of practice yesterday could mean Nathan Peterman getting the nod on Sunday. If that’s the case, I would guess he’ll throw away the game to us as he’s the only guy that’s managed to look worse than Tolzien.

Then it’s the Broncos who are also a hot mess, traveling to us on a Thursday night.

I’ll concede the Ravens should absolutely beat our asses.

Then we’ve already managed to beat Tom Savage and the Texans, in Houston. This one will be at home...

I am hoping we stay top 5.

Winning three games against shitty teams would be worse than losing them. A 6-10 record would probably put us well outside the top 10.

Ayup.

Texans have at least improved since we beat them, though. They've since beaten the Cards and played both the Ravens and Titans tough.

Hopefully they're not in tank mode in Week 17.

At the current rate of attrition we’ll have so many guys on ir that we will have to forfeit a couple games.

I’d feel better about the Colt game if Tolzien was starting!

I hate to root for losses, but losing gets draft position. Just hope it doesn't become the norm for the players to lose all the time.
