ESPN ) breaks down today's game, and gives the picks of both Colts writer Mike Wells and Jaguars writer Michael DiRocco.

Colts (7-8) at Jaguars (5-10)

Matchup Rating: 28.5 | Spread: IND -3.5 (43)

What to Watch for: ) The Colts ran for 264 yards in the last meeting (Marlon Mack had 109 and Jonathan Williams had 116) against the Jaguars, who have given up 176 yards per game rushing in their past seven games (including the Colts game.) --- Michael DiRocco

Bold Prediction: ) Colts defensive end Justin Houston will get two sacks to give him his highest sack total (12) since he recorded 22 during the 2014 season with the Chiefs. --- Mike Wells

Stat to Know: ) Gardner Minshew II could become the first Jaguars quarterback to throw for 3,000 yards in his rookie season (2,976 passing yards coming into the game.)

What's at Stake: ) Both teams are eliminated, but the outcome could impact tiebreakers for the AFC's No. 6 seed. FPI projects the Jaguars to pick No. 6 and the Colts to pick No. 16 in the 2020 draft.

Betting Nugget: ) Jacksonville is 7-1-1 ATS against Indianapolis in the past five seasons, including 4-0 outright and ATS at home.

Wells' Pick: ) Colts 27, Jaguars 17

DiRocco's Pick: ) Colts 21, Jaguars 13

FPI Preciction: ) INDIANAPOLIS, 64.0% (By an Average of 4.8 Points.)

The Jags seem to have quit for the season. I think Frank will have his guys ready. I'm predicting a colts win. If we somehow find a way to lose........it's gonna be a long off season. Go Colts.

Why? Losing means a higher draft pick and a lower one for the Jags.

I could care less about this game. I won’t even think about it tomorrow unless it has a huge impact on our draft position. We need a QB and a higher pick helps us immensely.

And I like the thread title.

The better pick would be great. I’m actually pretty excited about this years draft prospects. I think we have an excellent chance to improve at both wr and qb. That said, if they do win today I could see a 27-13 game.

Brylok 12-29-2019 01:55 PM

The game isn't on TV in my area, so I'd have to find a stream. That has become a pain in the ass and I'm not sure it's worth my time. I'm not really interested in watching the Colts run the ball 60 times against the Jags. Boring. I'd probably watch if Chad Kelly started, but we know that's not happening. We'll see

ukcolt 12-29-2019 02:00 PM

Title should have been "This is still real football, stop whining, it's another 9 months until the next game, make the most of it"

I expect people to take starting the official gameday thread seriously. We can’t all be terrible like Jacoby

“I couldn’t care less” is the phrase. Unless you indeed do care

There are only two qb's imo that are reasonably ready to start next year. Burrow & Tua & we aren't getting either of them. The rest are 1-2 year projects. Tua might drop some because of his injury but not far enough.

Watched Ford vs Ferrari this morning before the games started. Pretty good

Racehorse 12-29-2019 04:41 PM

I will likely have to be AWOL today. My father in law passed on Christmas Eve and the house is full of her family. I will be sneaking peeks at the game, but posting may be tricky.

Go Horse!

In December of 2010, the New York Jets were beaten by the Patriots by a score of 45-3 ........ a little over a month later, they avenged that loss in the playoff by beating that same Patriots team.

9 years later, and somewhat similarly, the Miami Dolphins were beaten by a score of 43-0 by the New England Patriots in September ........ and then avenged that loss 3 and-a-half months later with a win in the final week of the season. In the process, they KO'd the Patriots from having a 1st-round bye in the post-season.

Sorry to hear about your loss Racehorse. My prayers go out to you and your family.

Spike 12-29-2019 05:35 PM

Nice drive, too bad it only ended up with a field goal.

NextManUp 12-29-2019 05:36 PM

My greatest fear is that JB will have a monster game and the Colts staff will have the confidence to make him our franchise QB going forward.

Absolutely. For some reason Miami is the kryptonite to the Patsies.

I doubt it. He may start nest year, but if the Colts believe JB is a franchise QB, we are fucked as Colt fans.

Spike 12-29-2019 05:49 PM

Damn nice to have Hilton back healthy.

Sorry to hear that Racehorse. All the best to you and your family

Spike 12-29-2019 05:59 PM

Mack is a beast.

Racehorse 12-29-2019 06:04 PM

Team came to play af=gain this week

Brylok 12-29-2019 06:19 PM

Yeah, let's get Doyle hung out and injured on a trick play in a meaningless game. Don't do that again please

WaynesWorld87 12-29-2019 06:24 PM

How much does losing help our draft status?

I need to know how mad to get if we lose to this shitty ass team that has even less to play for than we do.

WaynesWorld87 12-29-2019 06:26 PM

Our defense fucking sucks. It's been total garbage the last half of the season. That's a pretty major concern going forward. I thought our defense was "closer" to being at least above average than they've shown the last 6-8 games of the season.

If JB would have led him correctly, Doyle would have caught it in stride. That was all on JB being inaccurate AGAIN.

Brylok 12-29-2019 06:29 PM

I'm tired of seeing wide open receivers in the middle of the field 15-20+ yards down field

Spike 12-29-2019 06:30 PM

Defense can't stop shit.

Everything else is place. But we need an obvious upgrade at QB, and our defense still has a ways to go.

apballin 12-29-2019 06:30 PM

Charmin Ya-sin, surprisingly the jags came to play today must still be pissed about that ass whopping we gave them

Look at the troll who finally showed up

WaynesWorld87 12-29-2019 06:36 PM

Alright defense, pull your heads out of your asses and do something.

Spike 12-29-2019 06:36 PM

Kelly just pancaked someone, hell yeah resign him.
