College FB Final 4

Anyone have any favorite players from these teams?

I really like Trinidad Chambliss. He did not get his redshirt senior status upheld so he will go into the NFL Wonder how far he will fall in the draft

The Indiana-Oregon game was over before the end of the 2nd quarter.

Omar Cooper, local guy with a lot of potential

Hoopsdoc 01-10-2026 01:57 AM

Are the Hoosiers cheating somehow?

I’ve never seen a team so completely dominant. It’s like Oregon never stood a chance.

I’ve never seen anything like it. It’s almost as if IU somehow knows what’s coming on every single play.

For the record, I don’t actually think they’re cheating. But I know a lot of bitter opposing fans do.

IndyNorm 01-10-2026 11:52 AM

Totally insane. There's not a person on the planet other than maybe Curt Cignetti who would have even imagined the Hoosiers would be playing for a national championship ever, much less in Cig's 2nd season. And he probably wouldn't have imagined them completely steamrolling the other CFP teams to get there. Really hope they keep it up for just 1 more game!!

I like Cooper too. Although he's a Jr, so depending on how things go might not be in the draft until '27. I like Sarrat a lot as well, and he's a SR. Also like both of IU's RBs Hemby and Black, and both of them are seniors.

Stephen Daley was great this year until his post B1G championship game injury. He's a little undersized and with the injury could be available in day 3 of the draft.

Other IU players I like Aiden Fisher (Sr LB), D'Angelo Ponds as a Kenny Moore type of player (although he's only a Jr), and Charlie Becker WR looks great although he's only a SO.

On Miami I like Mesidor and Bain. Although just about anybody on their DL is really good.

YDFL Commish 01-10-2026 11:59 AM

The Hoosiers may be the best coached team that I have ever seen. Every player is in position to do exactly what any given play was meant to accomplish.

They don't beat themselves. They play as a complete team. They play big boy physical football.

Man, are they fun to watch! All this from a bunch of 3 star and walk on prospects.

You can't make this shit up?

Puck 01-10-2026 12:09 PM

Hopefully Ballard see this and starts bringing in players with proven production over projections

That team is really one of a kind

Hate to say it because I could not stand watching it, but this is the most Saban Bama dynasty blueprint in motion since the Bama dynasty teams. The physicality is insane. Almost every tackle is one where you mutter "damn" under your breath. In the running game, that line loves to just maul you and they constantly get to the 2nd level.

Then you put that fucking balls out man at the helm, where he trusts EVERY single player on the team to do what they are good at and there is not an ounce of fear in their play calls.

As Puck pointed out, both Ballard and Steichen could really benefit from booking a week or so at the Cignetti residence learning how to built a TEAM and how to LEAD a team. He to me, is the antithesis of what both of our guys are.

Pretty even game so far.

Should have been a targeting call on Miami

I think that Indiana is dominating on the field, although not on the scoreboard.

10 1st downs for Indiana, 1 1st down for Miami.

151 yards of total offense for Indiana, 26 yards of total yards for Miami.

17:36 TOP for Indiana, 6:11 TOP for Miami.

Indiana has run 32 plays from scrimmage, Miami has run 14 plays from scrimmage.

Somebody call Curt Cignetti ...... tell him that his team l MUST NOT l get caught off-guard by an onside kick attempt to open the 2nd half.

I sincerely hope that Hank Baskett is not in attendance.

Need a big stop here

Puck 01-19-2026 11:13 PM

Holy Crap. I had 10 on the IU D to score at +700.

Puck 01-19-2026 11:32 PM

How was that not PI or holding?? WTF

Hoo Hoo Hoo Hoosiers!!!!!!!!

Indiana had the game in their hands.

2nd down and 1 yard to go ...... QB sneak, right ??? No, they line up in SHOTGUN FORMATION, and they get a 5-yard illegal motion penalty.

And that right there let Miami back into the game, a game in which they were virtually out of.

I'm glad that Indiana won, but it didn't have to come down to that ......that decision to operate from shotgun formation on 2nd down and 1 would have gone down as an all-time blunder if Miami had scored a TD on that final drive.

Well, that was my Super Bowl. Bring on the off-season. 😊

Who woulda thunk it
IU Football Wins a Natty
Before Purdue wins one in BB

No doubt. If I had been guaranteed 2 years ago that in 2 years either IU would win a CF Natty or I would hit the Powerball for $1B then I would have just went ahead and quit my job the next day.

ChoppedWood 01-20-2026 01:19 PM

Still feels like a fever dream! It doesn't even seem like this is a real thing. Cigs and this team will have a full feature movie made about them. Unreal!

I think you need to give the lion's share of the blame to the OL who false started. Now if IU had lost 5 yards on a run out of shotgun there then I would agree with you.

Also, IU hanging on let the refs off the hook IMO as their calls were very much 1 sided in MIA's favor. Waiting to throw a flag on roughing the passer until MIA's final drive after ignoring MIA doing the same thing or worse to Mendoza all game (including what should have been a targeting call in the 1st quarter) for example.

No doubt. If there's ever been a better coaching job in sports than what Cigs has done at IU then I can't think of it. The only one that comes to mind that is close is Herb Brooks with the 1980 US men's hockey team.

It was 2nd down-and 1.

They had 3 chances to get 1 yard.

You don't get cute there. You simply line up in standard formation, and give your quarterback 3 chances to get 1 yard to end the game.

I'm not even an IU fan, but that's an amazing accomplishment for IU football(!). Undefeated season and national championship. It's like the Indianapolis Indians winning the world series or something.

Die hard Irish fan. The beautiful symmetry of IU beating Bama and Miami to take home the hardware when basically those two were the reason for the Irish not making it; beautiful!

Hoopsdoc 01-20-2026 05:54 PM

Miamis d line, and to a lesser extent, their o line very nearly won that game for them.

It felt like every time IU was about to step on their throats, Bain or Mesidor would make a play. It was frustrating. They had Mendoza rattled for a little bit.

Then when they blocked the punt I was like well it’s over now. You can’t make a mistake like that against such a well coached team and not have it cost you dearly.

Love the Irish myself. That was a hairy finish. Some penalties are so much more costly than others. IU, 2nd and 1, a first down puts the game away and they get an illegal procedure and don't end up getting that first down. I went form "this game is over" to "o shit, if that penalty ends up costing IU the game. ..." the rest of my thought has been omitted due to language not fit for this board.
