As great as his 2022 was, he wasn't in the Mahomes, Allen, Burrow tier. And that's what this money is, tier-1. I read some salary cap guy not long ago predicting Burrow's contract to be like $215m... shit, not anymore.

As for Hurt, we'll see if he comes back to Earth. I've seen enough guys cash in a meteoric rise type of season and not live up to the cap sacrifice. Rewarding one great season with the title of "highest paid ever" is a bold move.

Lol Burrow's getting half a billion if Cincinnati wants to keep him long term.

Mahomes' contract is a bargain in comparison.

These contracts are still being pushed back with (re)structuring and whatnot. In a year or two, Mahomes will be making high $40m's every year and will be underpaid because...

Allen will soon be in the mid/high $50m's, Hurts in the $50m's, Watson will be in the fucking $60m's and Jackson is already turning down better contracts than what Hurts got.

Great news for Herbert... and Burrow will get an even bigger contract than him. All of a sudden Mahomes is barely a top-10 paid QB and it's time to change that.

All this crazy money getting tossed around is gonna turn into teams looking for a new QB every fifth year to avoid this shit, even though they created it. One player making that much will cripple a teams ability to sustain winning.

It will probably lead to a strike/lockout situation.

Using Peyton as the example, the more he made, the better he got. Same with that fucking Cheatriot

Something will have to give. Dam has to break before you rebuild it. Watson set this shit in motion, and he is nowhere near as good as the money he is making. The bubble will burst!

Agree. Owners (outside of Cleveland anyway) won't budge. Players association has guidelines they have to follow, and they'll obviously want more money. I think gridlock will ensue and, as usual, the fans will suffer. I don't even blame Watson at all. Obviously the player will take all the money he can. I blame Cleveland for being stupid.
