Strengths:

- Incredible anticipation

- Lightning quick processing, especially in the red zone

- Consistent ball placement on short and intermediate passes

- Good footwork and rhythm from drop-back through release

- Generally a good decision-maker (but usually doesn't have to make full progression plays too often)

- Has the ability to throw receivers open

- Quick processing in the red zone

- Flashes the ability to touch pass on intermediate throws

- Excellent pocket mobility

Weaknesses:

- Occasionally tries to "fade away" from pressure while throwing, in some cases against phantom pressure

- Limited ceiling

- Not very mobile or athletic

- Will occasionally throw flat footed or with a lazy lower base

- Slightly above average arm at best

- Inconsistent deep ball placement

- Had one of the best supporting casts in football, so many of his throws were wide open

He has an average college arm and slower than Tom Brady, as in this years tom brady. I wont bring up his lack of height.

The reasons the colts drafted Eason was that he is tall, and he has a big arm. You cant teach that. You can coach guys up. You can improve accuracy, see Williams in Buffalo.

Wow, these are the dumbest possible arguments against Mac Jones that I've seen.

- School pedigree is irrelevant to the success of an individual QB prospect, but I'll mark you down in the "Joe Burrow will be a bust" camp, because LSU's QB pedigree is far worse than Alabama's.

- Jones's arm strength is NFL average, not college average, and his game tapes are littered with NFL caliber throws. That can be improved as well, just ask soon to be Hall of Famer Drew Brees, who really did lack the requisite NFL arm strength until he got to the NFL and found someone to help him improve his core strength so he could use the rest of his abilities to become one of the greatest QBs in NFL history.

- The fact that you think Jones is slower than a 43 year old Tom Brady tells me that you have not watched a single game of him from this season. That's just flat out wrong.

- Mac Jones is listed at 6'3", which is in the prototypical height range for a QB, and he'll likely measure in at at least 6'2" at his pro day based on that listing. That said, do you want to be the one to tell Patrick Mahomes (6'2"), Drew Brees (6'0") and Russell Wilson (5'11") that they're too short to play QB in the NFL? It hasn't worked out very well for the other people who've tried.

That scouting report is accurate for Mac Jones. I see why they would call his deep ball placement inconsistent, but it seems like that's just redundantly mentioning that he doesn't have the strongest arm again, which seems unnecessary. Also, I'd put their "limited ceiling" weakness as a strength called "incredibly polished for a college QB, knows how to read the keys of a defense and manipulate a secondary with his eyes". But that scouting report is why you draft him and hire the guy who helped Brees with his core strength. The processing and anticipation he throws with is incredible.

I just don’t wanna turn into the franchise that gets the aging QB at the end of his career that’s only gonna be here a year or 2 and we have to re sign Nelson and Leonard very soon

I don’t want to be the franchise for every aging QB’s last shot. So stafford plays his contract, then who is next? Rodgers?

School pedigree: Purdue has more good NFL Qbs than alabama. They run first and think about pass later

Most NFL linemen are taller than 6-3. The guys you mention need to have offenses designed to find gaps inthe pass pro. And those short Qbs who have great arms. That would be the three you mentioned.

Brees wasnt a first round pick and he had a great arm. Taking this guy in the first round is dumb

You keep drafting QB's along the way until you hit on one. The last thing you want is to have a team that is talented enough to win a championship but you have a shit QB or a young QB forced to play and costing games. You play that kind of player when your entire team is still being rebuilt. Otherwise, if you have a good team, you try to find a capable QB and keep drafting and trying to develop a young QB along the way.

We had our chance at Brady. Looks like he is about to go to the super bowl again. Although the Packers D did a boneheaded move before the half allowing that TD.

We were never signing Brady and he was never interested in coming here and I wouldnt have wanted him and would have hated him even if he took us to the SB

Okay, so you didn't watch Brees in college or his first two years in the NFL, either. Brees did not have a great arm, his arm actually was subpar for the NFL when he was drafted. The Chargers drafted Rivers in 2004, which was the year Brees finally became a good NFL QB after being drafted in 2001 and becoming the starter in 2002. In 2002 and 2003 it was apparent that Brees's arm strength was subpar for the NFL, otherwise the Chargers wouldn't have been in a position to draft Rivers. Brees had to work on his core strength quite a bit to have an NFL caliber arm.
