As for the Colts' struggles, you can't say it's because they're going all vanilla because that assumes that the Ravens aren't. Everyone is vanilla, but receivers should at least be able to get open occasionally. I also don't care how plain your blocking scheme is, priority one should be to not let the other team have a free run at your starting QB.

Ballard went on record to say that nobody offered the 2nd round pick

I wonder why the rumor was floated? Set the bar high and see if a team offers an early 3rd?

On the positive side, the defense reminds me of the average years for the Dungy era D, but it's noticeably more aggressive at times, which gives me hope there. Dungy's D would concede all the way to the red zone with very little pressure. This defense at least seems to make teams earn yardage. Yeah, they aren't going to get a ton of 3 & outs, but it's not designed to stonewall teams.

One situation the defense looked good in last night was on third down so yes there is some reason for hope.

Per @PFF:

CB Quincy Wilson had the highest-graded performance for any #Colts defensive player last night at 88.2.

Was targeted four times, giving up on pass for 6 yards with 2 PBUs.

Apparently he's the Allen Iverson of our defense.
