And who would that be?

Not getting Lawrence and picking 21st doesn't give us many options, obviously Eason isn't ready yet and may never be.

I wouldn't give up 2 firsts for for any other QB coming out of the draft this year.

Sam Darnold? No thanks

# more young talent

# cap space
# 2 of the 3 members of AFC south are a mess.

We don’t know how much say Stafford has though. It may just come down to who throws them the best deal.

Mac Jones?

I just don’t wanna turn into the franchise that gets the aging QB at the end of his career that’s only gonna be here a year or 2 and we have to re sign Nelson and Leonard very soon

I wonder if an extension will factor into this. I’m sure it would for a more cash strapped team.

I feel like some team is going to throw a better package of picks Detroit’s way.

Possibly Miami.

I feel like Lawrence has a high bust potential. For all the hype, I would expect him to carve up college defenses with NFL throws. He has the arm to do it, certainly, but he doesn't seem to process what he sees well, and doesn't make "NFL open" throws, where he would anticipate a window opening and his receiver running into it, and throw the ball long before it happens. You'll see him double clutch a ball and miss a throw on which he should've hit a wide open receiver in stride. He's going to need to work on his processing speed and he's not going to get time to do it on the bench as the #1 pick.

I am uncomfortable with trading a lot of draft value to Detroit.

If Ballard was to do this, I think he's proven he deserves the benefit of the doubt, but I get that same uneasy feeling I had with Buckner. I think I'm okay with the first round pick, but anything after that...

It would likely require more than 1 first round pick to acquire Stafford. What I'd offer is the 21st pick and a 2022 2 with a performance escalator where if Stafford is named first team All Pro in 2021 or the Colts make the Super Bowl in 2021, it becomes a 1. I think that is probably the best offer they'll get.

If Mac Jones is available at 21, he'd be worth picking. Apart from that possibility, it's going to take some serious draft value in a trade to get a solution at the QB position.

I'm not as high on Mac Jones as some of you are. I guess we will see.

How many Qbs from alabama have found success in the NFL? Starr and Namath. In the last 20 years?

He has an average college arm and slower than Tom Brady, as in this years tom brady. I wont bring up his lack of height.

The reasons the colts drafted Eason was that he is tall, and he has a big arm. You cant teach that. You can coach guys up. You can improve accuracy, see Williams in Buffalo.

I am a supporter of getting Stafford. That said, I worry about what capital it would take to get him. If reasonable, I like the idea, but two firsts is steep, given the 20 expiring contracts we need to replace.

What are your issues with him?

I don't know what yours are, but I know a lot of people knock him for the surrounding talent. It was great, especially from a skill position perspective, but the offense doesn't move without a QB, and Mac Jones made NFL throws all year long against the best defenses in college football. It helped him to have talented receivers, but would you knock Peyton Manning for playing on a team with Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne, Edgerrin James, Dallas Clark, etc.? I'm certainly not saying Mac Jones is the next Peyton Manning, more that I don't think supporting cast is a good argument against a QB.
