I like your optimism.

Honestly, I'm fairly optimistic before every game, because I have to find something. This season though it's hard.

Still, just a few wins will make it easier.

I like to be optimistic till I’m proven wrong. Football should be fun and full of hope at the beginning of the year. Who wants to be a doomer before they even play a game?

Your (potential) optimism may not come to fruition until at least 9 or 10 games into the season.

I suspect that the Colts will start the season at 0-3, losing to both the Chiefs and the Texans.

Then, I suspect that they will go 11-2-1 over their next 14 games, finishing 2026 with an 11-5-1 record overall ...... which would be 1 game worse than my original 12-4-1 prediction.

To me, this feels exactly like the second half of last season. Jones is back, but he’s clearly limited. He can’t move like he did last year.

It feels to me like the bottom is very close to falling out. A key injury to a guy like Taylor or Pierce or Bynum and this season is shot. It may already be anyway.

It could very well be that, as well.

In fact, the opposite of what I said could also happen ...... the Colts could win close games against the Chiefs and the Texans, and then fall flat on their faces and lose 10 of their last 14 games to finish the season at 6-11.

IF, and that’s a big if because I’m not conceding defeat to the Chiefs even though it’s gonna be a tough place to come out with a victory. Even IF they lose, they better not by absolutely any circumstance lose to the Fuckin Texans at home and fall to 0-3.

Because IF that does happen…. I cannot be held responsible for what I post on Coltfreaks afterwards
