I imagine Bradley thought the 49'ers were the easiest pathway back to Defensive Coordinator.
No doubt, the 49'ers wanted Saleh back as DC. But there was still interest in Saleh as a Head Coach this off season - he interviewed with 3 different teams.
And there were rumors that Bradley was one of San Fran's back-up plans for DC if Saleh had landed another HC gig.
Now, Bradley just has to hope that Saleh gets another HC job in the next year or two and then Gus either steps up to be the 49'ers DC or follows Saleh to the next team. |
