Personally, I would give the Lions 2 first round picks and maybe a 3rd. You don't get franchise QB's off of the fucking street. Sign free agents to fill in the other holes.

No way he's worth two firsts and a third. Maybe one and a third....

The Colts are a better option than most teams.

# more young talent
# good O line ( need LT)
# cap space
# 2 of the 3 members of AFC south are a mess.

I agree the Texans are a mess, but the Jaguars will probably be one of the most improved franchises in 2021. They have Trevor Lawrence coming and an additional 4 picks in the top 65. They also have a shitload of cap space.

Saints are an interesting spot that I was surprised I hadn’t thought of, except for that I checked the link that Chaka provided and the Saints are actually in the red right now in terms of cap space:

Panthers actually only have just over $7M in cap space. Poorly run team.

I’d give them 2 firsts and a second. Maybe more.

Stafford is a really good player who’s been stuck in a shit organization his entire career. Give him a solid cast of teammates and a good coach like Reich and the sky is the limit, IMO.

There are only three ways we get a decent qb. Free agency (almost unheard of for a qb who is great and has several productive years to hit free agency-we may have a long wait), draft (we are not bad enough to get a highly rated qb and moving up in the draft cost a fortune in most instances-more than a trade for Stafford) or trade (which is rare itself). Even if we give up two firsts it would be less than a probable trade up in the draft to get a top qb. I don't see any other choice, get the guy.

Do we theoretically have to wait until the beginning of the new league year before making the trade?

JAFF 01-24-2021 11:32 AM

Does stafford have any choice? Maybe he wouldnt want to go to Chicago (as an example)
