I watched Contagion over the weekend. A good movie I’m sure every one can relate to right now.

In the series, V Wars, there is a scene early on about a virus that is infecting people and turning them into vampires. The picture of the virus looks eerily similar to the ones of the Coronavirus.

I'll recommend a few that haven't been mentioned. These are all older HBO shows that you can watch for free with Amazon Prime:

The Wire - I'm certainly not the first to say this, but the best show in television history. Period.

Deadwood - Not my favorite TV show category (Westerns), but this one's pretty fascinating nonetheless.

Eastbound and Down - The saga of fallen baseball superstar Kenny Powers. Danny McBride at his best. Very funny, and very crude.

Curb Your Enthusiasm - Seinfeld, but without the restrictions of network TV. Written by and starring the creator of Seinfeld, Larry David.

Ohh, forgot about the wire. Great series. I liked how the perspective shifted each season. Last season was a little hokey though.

The last season was abbreviated due to contract negotiations with HBO, so they tried to pack a lot into fewer episodes and it suffered a little. Like many great shows and movies, The Wire was critically beloved but not very successful commercially during its first run, so it was a struggle to get it made each season. There's a book someone wrote about the making of The Wire that I read a few years ago, and from that it sounded like HBO was incredibly patient with the show despite the fact that it never performed well in the ratings.
