It also looked like the receivers and running backs were moving tentatively early in the game.

you hear this from time to time and I dont get it. shouldnt equipment managers have several types of cleats on hand for every game? the weather was known to be an issue for a week before the game. they have plenty of time to check things out pregame. and how hard is it to change during the game as well?

seems monumentally stupid if its truely the case.

It's not entirely on the equipment managers. Players could have the right equipment and still be tentative because they don't trust their footing. Part of the problem playing in a dome. Players aren't used to playing in poor conditions.

agree. but I was specially referring to when you hear "we had the wrong cleats on"

It's up to the equipment manager to bring different cleat types to each game. Players then can decide what cleat they are more comfortable with.

If the equipment manager did not bring the proper cleats to KC for all the possible weather scenarios, they should be fired.

In all fairness, Tyreek Hill skated around a bit too.

Hopefully he’s locked in for Sunday.

Maybe I'm oversimplifying, but the answer to the question of "what cleats to bring" should always be "all the cleats"

I haven't seen it or heard it anywhere else. Seems like if it was a serious thing and not just an offhanded "Yeah the field was a mess and we struggled, guess we wore the wrong cleats" kind of comment, it would've come up on Twitter, or another interview show, or a news article. Something.

And no NFL team is going to have only one set of cleats available to their players in bad weather conditions. It just doesn't make any sense.
