Shitting the bed week 1 is simply not an option. If we can't manage a division road game against a team whose best prospects for the 2022 season is a good pick for the 2023 draft, we have zero chance of beating the Chiefs in week 3.

On a more serious note, the Colts lost the 2019 season opener to the Chargers, and beat the Chiefs one month later ...... in Kansas City ...... with Jacoby Brissett at quarterback.

The Chiefs wound up winning the Super Bowl that year, the Colts finished the season with a mediocre 7-9 record, and the Chargers went 4-11 for the rest of that season after beating the Colts in the opening game ...... if nothing else, the recent Colts teams have been pretty fucking weird, to say the least.
