Until the Colts start getting some of those benefit of a doubt calls from these God awful ref squads, it's going to be very hard to beat these league favorites!

In another thread, I stated that our toughest game left on the schedule will be the one against the Patriots ...... and that that game would be even harder to win than the game that we have against the Cardinals. I didn't say that we would beat the Patriots, just that it is now a must-win game with our overall record having dropped to 6-6 after today's loss. If we had won today and improved to 7-5, that game against the Patriots would not necessarily have been crucial (like it is now.) o |

On another note, how atrocious was the tackling today? Highlighted by the last Fournette TD. Play that stands out much earlier was after the Paye sack, 3rd and 8 and that dumb prick Gronk converts after some awful tackle attempts.

Hey, look at the bright side. We can hang a fucking banner that says Best Team not in the playoffs. Fuck this, I'm going to get drunk.

I don’t think you can take the play calling away from him without firing him. We just need to not commit 5 freaking turnovers. He’s better than the Pep Hamilton’s we’ve suffered through. |

I expect this offense to be quite a bit better next season. |

This hypothesis of the 2021 and 2022 Colts is mildly similar to the plight of the Patriots in 2020 and 2021. Last year, the Patriots looked rather pedestrian in finishing with a 7-9 overall record in a COVID-affected season without Tom Brady. But in 2022, with a full year of having been able to adjust to life without him, they look like a juggernaut that is a bona-fide contender for the AFC championship and a Super Bowl appearance. o |

You don’t fire or demote a coach who’s doing that. You just don’t. Think rationally about this. Frank needs to not get enamored with throwing the ball and run the offense through Taylor. Oh, and the Colts need to stop turning the damn ball over. THAT’S why they lost today. |

JT had a total of 25 yards in the 1st half on 8 carries. Yea. maybe you could say give him more touches. But he wasn't doing anything at all.
But of that 25 yards. One was a 12 yard carry So other than that he had carries of 0 4 -2 0 5 (12 yds here) 5 1 Zero TD's and Carson Wentz was HOT. Scored 24 points in the 1st half passing the ball He was finding the seams and making plays. While the Bucs had the answer for the run they did not have an answer for the passing game. Mistakes turned the game around. Pascal fumble, the strip sack and the muffed punt were killers. Bucs scored 24 points off of TO's on short fields I believe. Other than that the Colts D held them pretty well. Had we gotten the lead and ran JT play after play and went 3 and out over and over many of you would be saying Reich is too conservative and doesn't know how put his foot on their throats. I remember this from the other game threads.People were calling him too conservative. Should they have used JT more. Probably, But if you were going off the way the game was playing out in the 1st half you had to see being aggressive with a passing game that was working against a very good TB team was the way to go. Even though the JT had a great series in the 4th Qtr was no reason to go away from what was working. 5 turnovers lost this game. Not the play calling |

For the season I agree JT is our best player on offense. Today our best player on offense was Carson Wentz. Wentz got it going. JT did not The Bucs were going to throw everything at stopping JT. and they did. Their secondary was hobbled. From NFL.com Quote:

Should’ve went into the 4th quarter trying to ice away a lead, I love my chances with JT in that situation unfortunately they were still in it because of turnovers, goddam I thought Rodgers was gone on that kick return
|
So the thing that really worked for the Bucs was putting 5 and 6 on the line and loading the box and if it was a run they could generate even more pass rush with those extra bodies.
They have a great D |

Agree that the running game wasn't going early on, but it did start to get some momentum going in the 2nd quarter before Reich decided to pull the plug on it for the game. Either way, throwing the ball 26 straight times isn't a good idea for the Colts. Especially after they've turned it over a couple of times during that streak. |

I don't even have a huge issue with having more pass plays than run plays, but at one point in the 3rd it was nothing but pass plays. Nothing. Like 20 or something plays in a row. A blind man could see what the Colts were going to do, and it put the Bucs in position to play pass defense and get turnovers with it.
Granted, I'm not a football expert, but usually a mix of run/pass works best just to keep the defense a bit on their toes. |

Plus, maybe I'm just imagining things, but I could have sworn I've seen Taylor/Hines/Mack all active on the same game together. Were Special Teams just not a priority then? |
Quote:
That would make sense. I agree though that having Mack active would sure be nice. |
Also, for the record, I fully expected a loss today. Arians is a good coach, the Bucs have a talented team, and, most importantly, you’re not gonna get any calls AT ALL against golden boy Brady.
That unnecessary roughness penalty on Sendejo was total bullshit. It was a quarterback sneak, for fucks sake. He was still moving forward and Sendejo hit him in the back, not the head. In order to beat the Bucs and the refs today, we needed to dominate. We didn’t do that. |

The only Colt game I got to watch this season was the 2nd half and I go away pissed off. I hate that.

I just found out why ...... the Colts were honoring him as a franchise legend, in addition to doing so for Robert Mathis. The team also honored Hall-of-Famer Lenny Moore during the first half. The running back played for the Baltimore Colts from 1956-67, winning 2 championships (1958 & ’59.) His jersey number 24 is one of eight retired by the franchise. https://www.wane.com/sports/indianap...t-colts-38-31/ All of it was planned ahead of time ...... the Colts were wearing throwback uniforms from the late 1950's, honoring those teams.
